Sharing our Faith

I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ. (Philemon :6)

Sharing our faith can be a scary thing but it doesn’t have to be. Alot of times it seems scary to us because we make it unnatural by going out of our way trying to find someone to share our faith with to a stranger but we only need to make the most of the opportunities presented to us each day with our families, friends, neighbors, co-workers and divine appointments (opportunities that you know could have only came from God) etc. Each day we are presented with plenty of opportunities where we could start natural conversation with others that can lead into sharing about how God is working in our lives.

Sometimes we also think its about getting them to church with us or telling them what it is we believe in but sharing our faith is about sharing our life experiences and testimonies of how God has worked in our own personal lives. Doing this does require us to be vulnerable and honest about our own trials and weaknesses. It can be a little scary but when we remember the comfort we received from hearing others share their life testimonies, we will be more then willing to be a little uncomfortable in order to give them the same hope, comfort and patient endurance that we received.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation, ; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same dsufferings we suffer. And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort. (2 Corinthians 1:3-7)
